Catholic Reading 1, Deuteronomy 4:32-40

³² ‘Put this question, then, to the ages that are past, that have gone before you, from when God created the human race on earth: Was there ever a word so majestic, from one end of heaven to the other? Was anything like it ever heard?

³³ Did ever a people hear the voice of the living God speaking from the heart of the fire, as you have heard it, and remain alive?

³⁴ Has it ever been known before that any god took action himself to bring one nation out of another one, by ordeals, signs, wonders, war with mighty hand and outstretched arm, by fearsome terrors — all of which things Yahweh your God has done for you before your eyes in Egypt?

³⁵ ‘This he showed you, so that you might know that Yahweh is the true God and that there is no other.

³⁶ To instruct you, he made you hear his voice from heaven, and on earth he let you see his great fire, and from the heart of the fire you heard his words.

³⁷ Because he loved your ancestors and, after them, chose their descendants, he has brought you out of Egypt, displaying his presence and mighty power,

³⁸ dispossessing for you nations who were larger and stronger than you, to make way for you and to give you their country as your heritage, as it still is today.

³⁹ ‘Hence, grasp this today and meditate on it carefully: Yahweh is the true God, in heaven above as on earth beneath, he and no other.

⁴⁰ Keep his laws and commandments as I give them to you today, so that you and your children after you may prosper and live long in the country that Yahweh your God is giving you for ever.’

Gospel, Matthew 16:24-28

²⁴ Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me.

²⁵ Anyone who wants to save his life will lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it.

²⁶ What, then, will anyone gain by winning the whole world and forfeiting his life? Or what can anyone offer in exchange for his life?

²⁷ ‘For the Son of man is going to come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will reward each one according to his behaviour.

²⁸ In truth I tell you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the Son of man coming with his kingdom.’

1. 1 Timothy 6:12
   12 We have to fight to keep our faith. Try as hard as you can to win that fight. Take hold of eternal life. It is the life you were chosen to have when you confessed your faith in Jesus—that wonderful truth that you spoke so openly and that so many people heard.
2. James 4:7
   7 So give yourselves to God. Stand against the devil, and he will run away from you.
3. Matthew 18:18-20
   20 Yes, if two or three people are together believing in me, I am there with them.”
4. Ephesians 6:10-18
   10 To end my letter I tell you, be strong in the Lord and in his great power. 11 Wear the full armor of God. Wear God’s armor so that you can fight against the devil’s clever tricks. 12 Our fight is not against people on earth. We are fighting against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness. We are fighting against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly places. 13 That is why you need to get God’s full armor. Then on the day of evil, you will be able to stand strong. And when you have finished the whole fight, you will still be standing.

14 So stand strong with the belt of truth tied around your waist, and on your chest wear the protection of right living. 15 On your feet wear the Good News of peace to help you stand strong. 16 And also use the shield of faith with which you can stop all the burning arrows that come from the Evil One. 17 Accept God’s salvation as your helmet. And take the sword of the Spirit—that sword is the teaching of God. 18 Pray in the Spirit at all times. Pray with all kinds of prayers, and ask for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready. Never give up. Always pray for all of God’s people.

5. Colossians 2:15
   15 He defeated the rulers and powers of the spiritual world. With the cross he won the victory over them and led them away, as defeated and powerless prisoners for the whole world to see.

   6 “My people are destroyed because they have no knowledge. You priests have refused to learn, so I will refuse to let you be priests for me. You have forgotten the law of your God, so I will forget your children.

Psa 12:1 For the Pure and Shining One. A song of smiting, sung for the new day by King David. Help, Lord! Save us! For godly ones are swiftly disappearing. Where are the dependable, principled ones? They’re a vanishing breed!

Psa 12:2 Everyone lies, everyone flatters, and everyone deceives. Nothing but empty talk, smooth talk, and double-talk. Where are the truthful?

Psa 12:3 (3-4) I know the Lord will not deal gently with people like that! You will destroy every proud liar who says, “We lie all we want. Our words are our weapons, and we won’t be held accountable. Who can stop us?”

May the Lord cut off their twisted tongues and seal their lying lips. May they all be silenced—those who boast and brag with their high-minded talk about doing whatever they want.

Psa 12:5 But the Lord says, “Now I will arise! I will defend the poor, those who were plundered, the oppressed, and the needy who groan for help. I will arise to rescue and protect them!”

Psa 12:6 For every word God speaks is sure and every promise pure. His truth is tested, found to be flawless, and ever faithful. It’s as pure as silver refined seven times in a crucible of clay.

Psa 12:7 (7-8) Lord, you will keep us forever safe, out of the reach of the wicked. Even though they strut and prowl, tolerating and celebrating what is worthless and vile, you will still lift up those who are yours!

I asked the Lord why so many of His people are sick, broke, hit by storms of life w/damage & begging Him for help but not receiving it.

He said 1) They ask Me to come into their heart to save them. Then they leave Me sitting here amidst the clutter, rubble, chaos, bad decisions, unforgiveness, hatred, etc for years and years then ask Me to heal them, make them rich, and fix everyone around them.

They are not good stewards over My Word to read it and to do it. They don’t ask for My Spirit to live in them (some even deny He is for them) & allow My Spirit to lead them, guide them, remove the clutter, unforgiveness, trauma, rubble, hatred, bad decisions, etc. so the sickness and poverty will leave them.

They spend little to no time with Me. They have no foundation. They eat, say, think, do whatever they want most of which is contrary to My Word (put on the mind of Christ means THINK LIKE I THINK).

They believe what their pastors, family, friends say over what I say. The have NO REVELATION in their Spirit, Mind, Soul of WHO I AM and WHO THEY ARE IN ME.

They don’t know their position OVER the enemy, BESIDE Me, & OVER the Earth (including weather).

I said in My Word that (James 4:3NKJV) You ask & do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. This means they ask without knowing Me, Who they are in Me and the AUTHORITY they have when they obey ME as their LORD so how can they receive?

Father created you all to be our family with Us and I bought you all back from the enemy, from your fallen state yet you all treat Us like your servants that you call on when you want something.

We established principles for Life that dictates how everything works. Sow seed, reap a crop. Treat others how you want to be treated, etc. They are found throughout My Word.

They say they can’t understand My Word. It’s because they don’t have My Spirit to enlighten their understanding and they don’t have My Knowledge from My Word in them. Repent, receive My Spirit.

My personalized verses, to say just before I go to sleep, and as soon as I wake up to remind me who I am in Christ.

Bible Scriptures About Identity In Christ

I am in Christ now, a new person, all old things are gone, Now, suddenly, everything about me became new and perfect.

Suddenly, I am part of a chosen generation, of a royal priesthood, of a holy nation, of a peculiar people; I express praises to Christ, who called me out of darkeness into his maravellous light;

I am his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good deeds, that God ordained me to perform for him.

I received Christ, he has given me power to become the daughter of God, I believe on the name of Jesus.

Jesus who never sinned, gave his life for me, I am now transformed and also without sin. He lives in me.

Jesus is the vine, I am the branch: He lives in me, and I live in him.

I know that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is living in me. I belong to God.

I am of God, his child, I overcome anything because God, who lives in me is greater than anything or anyone in the world.

I am being transformed by renewing my mind, I am good, acceptable and in the perfect will of God.

Christ is in me, I share his power and love and his sound mind.

Through my faith in Jesus Christ, I am the child of God.
