For the next few weeks we should Also Listen to: Ephesians 1-6 Phillipians 1-4, Colossians 1-4 (These are good reminders of how to act like a Christian in your daily living)

1 Kings 8:22-23, 27-30

22Then Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;23and said, “O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above or on earth beneath, keeping covenant and showing steadfast love to thy servants who walk before thee with all their heart;27″But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!28Yet have regard to the prayer of thy servant and to his supplication, O LORD my God, hearkening to the cry and to the prayer which thy servant prays before thee this day;29that thy eyes may be open night and day toward this house, the place of which thou hast said, `My name shall be there,’ that thou mayest hearken to the prayer which thy servant offers toward this place.30And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant and of thy people Israel, when they pray toward this place; yea, hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place; and when thou hearest, forgive.

Psalms 84:3-5, 10-11

2My soul longs, yea, faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.3Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at thy altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God.4Blessed are those who dwell in thy house, ever singing thy praise! [Selah]9Behold our shield, O God; look upon the face of thine anointed!10For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Gospel

Mark 7:1-13

1Now when the Pharisees gathered together to him, with some of the scribes, who had come from Jerusalem,2they saw that some of his disciples ate with hands defiled, that is, unwashed.3(For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, do not eat unless they wash their hands, observing the tradition of the elders;4and when they come from the market place, they do not eat unless they purify themselves; and there are many other traditions which they observe, the washing of cups and pots and vessels of bronze.)5And the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why do your disciples not live according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with hands defiled?”6And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, `This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me;7in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’8You leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men.”9And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God, in order to keep your tradition!10For Moses said, `Honor your father and your mother’; and, `He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him surely die’;11but you say, `If a man tells his father or his mother, What you would have gained from me is Corban’ (that is, given to God) –12then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother,13thus making void the word of God through your tradition which you hand on. And many such things you do.”

“Well did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, as it is written: This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me; In vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines human precepts.” Mark 7:6-8

Prayers of the Rosary

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;

Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried,

He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

(this prayer is optional and may be said after all Glory Be to the Fathers…..)

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell.

Lead all souls to heaven, especially those who are in most need of thy mercy.

Console the souls in Purgatory, particularly those most abandoned. Amen

Hail Mary,

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

The Hail, Holy Queen

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life our sweetness and our hope.

To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve;

To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.

Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!

That we maybe made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Closing Prayer

O God, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation.

Grant, we beseech Thee, that while meditating on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary,

that we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

(The Fatima Prayer:)

Most Holy Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – I adore thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference’s whereby He is offended. And through the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners.

Prayer to St. Michael

Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
